The 2022 CPD Intensive Series: Get cybersecurity ready
Cybersecurity is the most important issue facing businesses today. The ACT legal community has recently seen some serious cybersecurity attacks on firms and clients. It’s no longer a question of 'if' this happens to you or your clients, but 'when'. A cybersecurity breach can bring a business to its knees, and it can be almost impossible to recover if it's not handled well.
Lawyers and law firms are now at the front of this cyberwar — being ‘cybersecurity-ready’ requires action from every type of lawyer, and involves almost every type of advice you will give to clients. Lawyers (both in-house and in private practice) need to not only understand how to protect themselves from a cyber-attack, and be resilient enough to recover, but also need to be equipped to advise clients on how to assess the risk, and take action themselves.
This session will give you the tools to identify where you need to consider cybersecurity in your everyday legal work, where to start in preparing your business and/or clients for cybersecurity resiliency, and how to upskill yourself in cybersecurity issues.
