Family Law Conference 2022: How has Covid-19 affected business valuations in family law settlements?

Peter Haley of Vincents will discuss how business valuations have been affected in the last two years due to the pandemic. He will draw on actual valuations undertaken in that time to illustrate the effects of Covid.

Peter Haley, Director – Forensic Services, Vincents

Peter has over forty years’ experience in the business analysis and the accountancy profession, the last twenty of which have been specialising in forensic accounting and business valuations. He has prepared business valuations for use in the buying, selling and restructuring of businesses and the entities that operate them, including the financing of them and for litigation purposes. During that time Peter has prepared in excess of a thousand valuations. Peter has prepared and submitted business valuations as expert evidence and appeared to give evidence in Courts is most Australian jurisdictions including the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Peter is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and a Member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA. Peter was accredited as a Business Valuation Specialist with CA ANZ in 2014 and a Forensic Accounting Specialist with CA ANZ in 2019.
