Local profession welcomes promotion of her Honour Justice McWilliam

The Law Society congratulates Associate Justice Verity McWilliam on her promotion to Resident Judge of the ACT Supreme Court.

ACT Attorney-General Shane Rattenbury MLA announced the promotion earlier today.

Justice McWilliam was first appointed to the ACT Supreme Court as an Associate Judge on 26 June 2017, filling the vacancy created by Justice David Mossop's own promotion to a Resident Judge.

At the time of her original appointment, she was the first woman to hold the title of Associate Judge of the Supreme Court of the ACT.

"The local profession extends its good wishes to Justice McWilliam as she takes on her new role," said President of the Law Society Farzana Choudhury.
