The ACT Law Society is the peak body for legal practitioners in the ACT. We represent and advocate for the legal profession in the ACT and maintain professional standards for the protection of the public. We also provide a range of general legal information resources to assist members of the public with understanding legal problems.

Professional Development & Events Officer

The Law Society's Professional Development & Events Officer is responsible for managing, delivering and growing the Society’s annual program of professional development and member-focused engagement events.
This is a hands-on role, encompassing all aspects of planning and delivering member engagement events as well as a professional development program to cater for the lifelong learning needs of members. You will work closely with other team members and with event partners to facilitate successful events throughout the year. The role is responsible for both administrative and logistical components of events.
This role will require a flexible approach and availability to work after hours on occasion. In return, we provide flexibility with your hours of work, a 35-hour work week, additional paid leave between Christmas and New Year, training opportunities, and our employee assistance program.
CPD & Events Assistant

The Law Society's CPD & Events Assistants support the preparation and delivery of our CPD and social events with a variety of tasks both at events and in the office. We host events both on and off site throughout the year, with 2-3 events per week in peak periods.
We are looking to appoint several positions on a casual basis with an immediate start. Successful candidates should have a professional presentation, a strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role would suit students studying towards law or events/communications qualifications.
