ACT Law Society welcomes result of the same-sex marriage survey
The President of the ACT Law Society, Ms Sarah Avery, today welcomed the result of the same-sex marriage survey and noted that 74% of Canberrans voted in favour of same-sex marriage.
“Anti-discrimination is a fundamental part of the rule of law,” said Ms Avery. “While I acknowledge that individual members of the legal profession will of course hold their own private views on the issue, as a profession that supports the rule of law and human rights, the ACT Law Society is very happy with the outcome.”
