    AIFLAM Arbitration Forum

    ACT Law Society Training Room

    AIFLAM is the designated body to train and accredit arbitrators under the new Family Law Rules for Arbitration. AIFLAM will be holding a forum to allow members of the profession and other stakeholders to exchange views and hear AIFLAM’s plans for advancement of arbitration as a primary dispute resolution process. For more information please see the discussion paper, which sets out some points for discussion at the Forum.

    Law for Non-Lawyers: Forced Labour

    Legal Aid ACT

    Legal Aid ACT presents a series of free training sessions for new lawyers and legal support staff. This session will be facilitated by members of the ACT Anti­Slavery & Trafficking Network. The objectives of the training will be to understand the range and types of modern slavery criminalised in Australian law (slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, deceptive recruitment for labour or services, etc); be able to distinguish modern slavery from other crime types; be able to recognise the indicators of forced labour and human trafficking; and know how to respond if you suspect a case.
