Public Information ACT Tenancy Agreement

ACT Tenancy Agreement

The Standard Tenancy Agreement is available for purchase from the Law Society. It is a standard lease form for private residential properties recommended by the Society. It was first produced by the Society in 1989 and sets out clearly the rights of landlords and tenants as laid down in the ACT's Residential Tenancies Act 1997.

The Agreement has been revised from time to time to reflect legislative amendments to the Act. The current review of residential tenancies legislation by the ACT Government may result in the Law Society's Tenancy Agreement being revised again shortly.

An original copy is required for both the landlord and the tenants of a property. Price is as follows:

Single copy $5.00 each $5.00 each
For 10 or more copies $2.50 each N/A
Bulk sale to newsagents/real estate agents N/A $2.50 each
