Ms Noor Blumer

Ms Blumer’s election was declared at the Society’s AGM on Thursday, 22 September 2011. She succeeds Mr Athol Opas (Dept of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations) who steps down after serving two terms as President. Mr Opas remains on the Council as Immediate Past President.

Ms Blumer, a Director of Blumers Personal Injury Lawyers, is also Vice-President of Civil Liberties Australia. Ms Blumer has played an active role in equalising opportunities in the law through her work as:

• Chair of the Equalising Opportunities in the Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia 2007 - 2010.
• President Australian Women Lawyers 2005 - 2006.

and through a number of Law Society and Law Council of Australia committees and working groups over an extended period.
